"This
has got to be the handiest thing I own.I Bought it on Saturday
from Hank in New Braunfels, this picture was taken about
5 hours later. Not a huge hog, but more than I wanted to
pick up and toss in the truck by myself. It was simple, I
just hoisted it up, then swung into the bed and hit the release.
Easiest I have ever picked up a hog, I can tell you that!"
"You
can't tell from photo, but the hoist breaks down right below
the crank, so you can actually set it up to point to the side
or towards the bed of your pick up if desired. After I loaded
the hog, it occurred to me that it would have been even easier
to set it up so it hung over the bed, then just crank the hog
up over the edge of the tailgate."
"I'm really impressed, I can't say enough good things about the hoist, it
is a high quality piece of work. Thanks Hank!"

Hank,
"I have used the hickbuilt tie out at every show and hunt I have been on. They
are great. Most convent when you can just drive them in the ground and stake
your dog out instead of having too tie it to the trailer or a tree. If I start
carrying more dogs I will have to get more. They have been very helpful and I
use them all the time.
Thanks again and look forward too some more useful items in the future."

| I
used to hunt with Hoggin' Hank' on a 2400 acre lease
here in Comal County. I always watched him leave the
ranch with his trailer loaded with live hogs that he
said that he caught on the ranch( Yea right???). Well
since no one else was catching very many hogs, maybe
1 or 2 every once in a while , I figured Hank was pulling
my leg. He then told me that most of the hogs he trapped
were caught from 2 different 6' Box Traps that he had
set out . When I asked him how many hogs he could catch
in one of those little 6' traps he said he has caught
as many as 14 at one time. |
 |
Well
I still was not convinced so I asked him if I could
tag along when he checked his traps the next time. After
about a week went by he called me up and told me that
he had set 1 of his 6' Traps and that he would be checking in
the am. I met him at the gate to the ranch and we headed
for the pasture. Hank stopped about 100 yards before
the trap because he said there are usually hogs around
the trap on the outside if you check the traps early
enough. As we walked toward the trap I noticed some black
objects around the trap on the outside as well as the
entire dern trap full of hogs. I would guess that about
4 or 5 hogs were on the outside and as we approached
I counted 11 hogs in that little 6' trap...WOW.. I couldn't
believe my eyes. Old Hoggin' was not pulling my leg at
all. We went back and got the truck with that hog trailer
thing he built and we loaded up 8 hogs. They were 20
to 75 pounds. We did loose 3 of them that got out through
the top of the trap. Hoggin' said this was because the
little ones were getting up on the rest of the hogs and
getting pushed out through the cattle panel. I would
have never believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own
2 eyes. After we loaded the hogs up I asked Hoggin' if
the trap was for sale and he said make me an offer. I
started at $250. and we ended up making a deal for $275.00
and I came back later that evening and picked up that
little 6' trap. It fit right in the back of my truck
with the tailgate closed. I ended up trapping about 8
hogs with that trap after I bought it from Hoggin' at
the end of January. I had only trapped 3 hogs total throughout
the entire Deer season with my other hog trap. Hoggin'
asked me if I had any words to say about all of that
hick stuff he builds and I can say with confidence that
you definitely get what you pay for and a whole lot more.
He said he would attach a picture of all those hogs in
that little trap if I told the story so here is the story
.Thanks for the trap Hoggin'.

Hey
Hank here is the pic of the Trap Front I got from you.
IT WORKED!! I
caught 15 total. I did not weigh any of
them but there was a good sow, a young boar and 13
shoats. It looks like all the hogs
are from the same family. I went down
Sunday and limed the pen and threw in some leaves
and put in some more corn. While doing
that we saw 3 more run through the woods near us. That
was around noon . They
are
there waiting for me. We will try again this Saturday. I
have a lot more
pics.

Hank
built my Dog Box to my requirements and then added
in some of his own ideas to create an awesome Dog Box
that will last a lifetime. I’ve seen a few different
boxes at some of the Hog Baying competitions and my
Dog Box is definitely one of the best looking ones
that I’ve seen. Thanks again Hank…

I
told you that I would send you some photos of our
first catch. Were so proud of ourselves
we just can't stand it. We couldn't have done
it without your trap gate. It worked great!!!!! We
trapped 11 pigs on our first catch.
Thanks,

Hank,
Since my time at the ranch as been limited to short
stays I have only set the trap 3 nights: Results:
115#Sow and 30# piglet first night, 100# sow the second
night and two 30-40 # piglets 3rd night. My
neighbors are grateful for the good eating and I am
starting to put a dent in the hog population. After
this short run I would say that I am extremely pleased
with the trap's performance. Here is a
picture for your website..
